What areas do you service?
Mendocino, Sonoma and Marin Counties, in Northern California.

Do I need to schedule in advance or can I call in a pinch?
Transport is based on availability, we encourage pre-scheduling whenever possible. There is a $20 surcharge for unscheduled/urgent response

How much does it cost?

Do you accept payment plans?
We are unfortunately not able to honor installment plans, but we do accept all major credit cards.

Are your techs certified?
Our Pet Techs are both Pet CPR and Animal First Aid Certified.

Does pet insurance cover Transfur services?
Depending on your pet insurance carrier and plan, transport of your sick or injured pet may be covered. Typically the veterinarian will need to certify medical necessity in order for you to submit a receipt for insurance reimbursement.

Is this an emergency?
You know your pet best, so if you believe your pet is sick or hurt, he/she should be evaluated.

Common emergency situations include:

  • Bite wounds
  • Bleeding
  • Collapse or fainting
  • Changes in behavior
  • Difficulty or noisy breathing
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Trauma, such as being hit by a car or falling out of a window
  • Ingestion of any medications not currently prescribed for your pet (please bring container with you!)
  • Ingestion of any toxins (please bring container with you!)
  • Seizures
  • Sudden changes in ability to walk or paralysis
  • Repeated vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Trouble giving birth
  • Any changes to your pet’s health that concern you

My pet is aggressive or uncooperative, can you still transport?
Yes, we approach every situation, even those that are difficult, with compassion and care. Our experience and equipment allow us to restrain your pet if necessary while keeping him/her as comfortable as possible. 

What kind of vehicle do you use?
We operate ambulances that have been carefully modified for the safety and comfort of your pet in transit.

Can I ride along with my pet?
For safety and due to the confined space, we do not typically accommodate pet parents to ride along. We do rarely make exceptions, please talk with a scheduler to inquire further.
